Devotions
awake in darkness,
breakfast can wait,
til devotions paid,
to the church,
cassock and surplice of white,
candles lit,
the altar made ready,
prayers said,
and heard,
the Mass,
performed,
home for breakfast,
and off to school,
full of faith,
and glazed donuts,
from the bakery downtown.
