A Still Life of Dead Flowers
He chose to pave his way
With no confidence to the grave;
Little money working long shifts,
Never paid enough to save.
He travelled by bus, rail and tube
Half his days to work eight hours;
A pittance paid to blood-red nails
And a crumbling grave, among dead flowers.
